A LITTLE OLD LADY SOLD PRETZELS ON A STREET CORNER FOR 25 CENTS EACH. EVERYDAY A YOUNG MAN WOULD LEAVE HIS OFFICE BUILDING AT LUNCH TIME, AND AS HE PASSED THE PRETZEL STAND, HE WOULD LEAVE HER A QUARTER, BUT NEVER TAKE A PRETZEL. THIS WENT ON FOR THREE YEARS. THE TWO OF THEM NEVER SPOKE. ONE DAY, AS THE YOUNG MAN PASSED THE OLD LADY'S STAND AND LEFT HIS QUARTER AS USUAL, THE PRETZEL LADY SPOKE TO HIM WITHOUT BLINKING AN EYE, SHE SAID "THEY'RE 35 CENTS NOW."
Rizzi darling, so glad you too have great plans for the weekend. Have fun with Jackie and enjoy your lunch. By the way, this was a hilarious post, my cousin is still laughing. Hope your weekend is filled with blessings.

Good one Aunt Riz! You always had the BEST and funniest stories. One of my faves -- the panties from Kmart.... :)
ReplyDeleteLove your story today....so cute!
ReplyDeleteHello Madeline,
ReplyDeleteThe old lady reminds me of Jakes wife, you remember them, around the corner in the beat up grocery store selling milk and bread. The lived in the back room with their daughter Rosie.
Lady Rizzi just popped in to see how shopping and lunch with Jackie went? Hope you had a marvelous time my luv.
